Cement Roof
A cement roof tile is a very versatile and robust roofing material. They are designed to become stronger over a period of time. The only problem with this theory is that as the roof tile hardens, the paint on the surface fades and becomes non existent. Without an adequate surface covering such as a good quality roof paint, the tile is exposed to extreme conditions.
The heat and the cold expands and contracts the tile, causing random cracking and chipping and accelerated shifting of the cement under the ridges.
When a concrete roof tile is restored and is kept in good condition, the sun is reflected. The tile remains at an even temperature and will not expand or contract. The roof coatings are also sprayed on the flexi point which protects the ridge capping, valleys and gables.
This results in an extra uv protected barrier that will not need re-bedding much longer than the ten year warrantee we offer.
Once a cement tiled roof restoration is completed and the ridge capping pointed accordingly, the roof will be in prime condition for many years to come. As the time approches to restore the roof again (usually about 12 – 15 years later) the process will have been much easier and a lot less expensive this time around. The roof will require minimal work, only a light pressure clean, small repairs to ridges and a basic primer and two top coat paint finish.
Keeping a cement tiled roof well maintained and restored makes sence, and if done properly, saves the need for any substantial future maintanace and makes subsequent restorations so much easier and lighter on your pocket.
